CAUTION
Use of a tempo 3 lifeline on an anchor line not
suited to this model as defined by this manual is
hazardous due to possible non-operation of the
device, with danger of the user falling and risking
his life.
4. Installation
4.1. tempo 2
Before installing the tempo 2 lifeline, ensure that all the
anchor points have a tensile strength of 28 kN.
4.1.1. Assembly
Connect the connector or the AS30S anchoring strap
(fig.2) from the belay support (L) of the tempo 2 lifeline
to the first anchor point and then connect the second
connector or the AS30S anchoring strap ( fig.2) located
on the anchoring strap (S) to the second anchor points.
The two anchor points must be spaced by no more than
20 m. The lifeline must be positioned so that its angle of
inclination with respect to the horizontal does not create
any risk of the operator sliding along the axis of the rope
bridge lifeline in the event of a fall by one or several
persons ; in all cases, the angle must not exceed 15°.
To tension the tempo 2 lifeline, manually pull the slack
strand of the anchor line parallel to the axis of the lifeline
to reduce, to the maximum, the deflection on the anchor
line. While maintaining the tensioning force on the slack
strand, disengage the antireturn brake of the tensioner
to release the ratchet handle. Actuate the ratchet
handle and perform at least two turns so that the strap
overlaps correctly. Once the tensioning is completed,
reposition the anti-return brake. This operation will lock
the ratchet handle.
The tempo 2 lifeline must be installed as high as
possible, and no lower than a man's mid-height.
CAUTION
Before installation, check that the area under the
lifeline being installed is clear of all persons.
4.1.2. Removal
To dismantle the tempo 2 lifeline, disengage the
anti-return brake of the tensioner to release the ratchet
handle.
Pull on the tensioned strand of the strap to create a sag.
Then unhook both connectors from the structural
anchors or AS30S.
CAUTION
Before loosening the line, make sure that no one is
attached to the line.
Check that the area under the lifeline is clear of all
persons.
4.2. tempo 3
Before installing the tempo 3 lifeline, ensure that all the
anchor points have a tensile strength of 15 kN.
4.2.1. Assembly
Connect the connector or the AS30S anchoring strap
(fig.2) from the belay support (L) of the tempo 3 lifeline
to the first anchor point and then connect the second
connector or the AS30S anchoring strap ( fig.2) located
on the tensioner (T) to the second anchor points.
The two anchor points must be spaced from each other
by no more than 18 m. The lifeline must be positioned
horizontally with a maximum slope of 15 °.
Check that the adjuster (A) is on the soft end.
To tension the tempo 3 lifeline, manually pull the soft
strand of the belay support parallel to the lifeline axis
to minimise belay support deflection. While maintaining
the tensioning effort in the soft strand, move the soft
end of the lifeline away from the strut to allow the
tensioner cam (Q) to lock onto the belay support (L).
Adjust the adjuster (A) against the tensioner (T).
The tempo 3 lifeline must be installed at the highest and
at least half the height of a man.
CAUTION
Before installation, check that the area under the
lifeline being installed is clear of all persons.
Before tensioning the line, check that the arrow
engraved on the tensioner is pointing toward the
slack strand of the anchor line.
4.2.2. Removal
To loosen the tempo 3 lifeline, move the adjuster (A) of
the tensioner (T) and while exerting a force on the soft
strand of the belay support, manually apply a pivoting
force on the tensioner (T). to slide the belay support
(L) into the tensioner by unlocking the cam (Q). Then
unhook both connectors from the structural anchors or
AS30S. Then unhook both connectors from the anchor
points.
CAUTION
Before loosening the line, make sure that no one is
attached to the line.
Check that the area under the lifeline is clear of all
persons.
