Fit the wheels on the axles and secure them with the collets.
Each wheel is retained on its axle by a collet on each side. It is absolutely essential to
secure the grubscrews in the collets with a drop of UHU schraubensicher.
Fuselage and tail panels
Insert the fin in the slot in the fuselage and slide it down so that the forward strake
rests on the turtle deck, and forward so that it ends flush at the tail post. Use a felt-tip
pen to mark the line of the fuselage on both sides of the fin.
Remove the fin, and cut through the film by running the tip of a hot soldering iron just
inside the marked lines. Peel off the superfluous film.
Glue the fin in the slot in the fuselage, positioned exactly as described earlier.
Tape the fin in place to prevent it shifting out of position while the glue is hardening.
Melt away the film over the hole in the rudder for the horn. Remove the film over the
area of the threaded horn base.
Assemble the rudder horn as shown in the photographs.
Glue the horn in the hole in the rudder.
Allow the glue to set hard, then attach the rudder to the fin using the procedure
described for the ailerons.
Connect the rudder pushrod to the rudder horn using a clevis.
The next step is to glue the two tailplane panels to the fuselage, but first the elevators
have to be attached using the hinges provided.
Allow the glue to set hard, then melt away the covering film over the horn sockets
and remove the film over the area of the elevator horn bases.
Glue the horns to the elevators as shown in the photo. It is important that the whole
area of the horn bases makes sound contact with the elevators.
Allow the glue to set hard, then fit the aluminium tailplane joiner tube through the
fuselage, slide both tailplane panels onto it, and glue them to the fin.
Tape the tailplane panels in place to prevent them shifting out of position while the
glue is hardening.
When the adhesive has cured, the servos for rudder, elevator, steerable nosewheel
and throttle can be screwed to the support plate.
Press the rubber grommets and tubular metal spacers into the servo mounting lugs,
as described earlier for the wing-mounted servos. Drill pilot-holes and fix the servos
in place using the retaining screws supplied with them.
