6.1. Vertical use (Fig. 3, page 3)
Before each use, you must check that the
clearance under the device (L) is equal to at
least twice the length of the lanyard used (L1),
plus one metre for braking (L2), plus one metre
for safety (L3), plus the elastic elongation (L4)
6.2. Horizontal use (Fig. 4, page 3)
For stopfor™ MSP, B and BF before each use, you must
check that the draft (L) under the device is greater than
the sum of twice the length of the lanyard used (L1) plus
4.50 metres for braking (L2), plus one safety metre (L3),
plus the elastic elongation of the rope used (L4), plus
the height of the back of the harness of the person in
relation to the ground (L5), plus the maximum deflection
of the anchor point defined in the operating instructions
of the anchor point.

It is strictly forbidden:
• to install or use the stopfor™ fall-arrester without first

having been authorised, trained and recognised to be
qualified in the use of the device, or otherwise, without
the supervision of an authorised technician, trained
and recognised to be qualified in use of the device.
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester if any of the
markings are not legible.
• to install or use the stopfor™ fall-arrester without first
having carried out the preliminary checks.
• to use a stopfor™ fall-arrester which has not been
covered by a periodic inspection over the past 12
months by a technician having authorised re-use in
writing.
• to connect the stopfor™ fall arrest belay support
to an anchor point that has not been periodically
examined for less than 12 months by a technician
who has authorised its re-use in writing,
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester for any other
application than to protect people from falling.
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester in contradiction with
the information specified in the section "15. Lifespan".
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester as a fall protection
system for more than 1 person.
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester by a person whose
weight, equipment included, is greater than 150 kg.
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester with a load of
between 100 kg and 150 kg (total weight of the
operator, equipment and tools) if any component in
the fall-arrest system has a lower maximum load.
• to use the stopfor™ fall-arrester if it has served to
stop a fall.
• to use the stopfor™ fall arrester as a means of
suspension,
