Lifting operation with blocfor™ R
Any lifting operation with blocfor™ R is prohibited.
The winch system is intended for rescue operations
only
Throughout the rescue phase, there must be
direct or indirect visual contact or other means of
communication between the rescuer and other
persons involved in the rescue.
For rescue operations, the use of a comfortable
harness EN 813 (type Promast™, Transport,
Emergency) or a harness equipped with an EN
1497 emergency shoulder strap is recommended.
6. Prohibited use
It is strictly forbidden:
• to install or use this equipment without the proper
authorization, training and recognition or, failing that,
without the supervision of an authorized, trained and
recognized competent person,
• to use this equipment if any of the markings are not
legible,
• to install or use this equipment without first having
carried out the preliminary checks,
• to use the automatic fall arrest system blocfor™,
which has not been subject to periodic review since
• less than 12 months, by a technician who has
authorized its reuse in writing.
• to connect this equipment to an anchoring point that
it has not been periodically inspected over the past
12 months by a technician having authorised re-use
in writing,
• to use this equipment for any application other than
personal fall protection,
• to fix this equipment by any means other than its
anchoring point.
• to use this equipment in contradiction with the
information specified in the section "15. Lifespan".
• to use this equipment as a fall protection system for
more than 1 person,
• to use this equipment with a load of between 100 kg
and 150 kg (total weight of the operator, equipment
and tools) if any component in the fall-arrest system
has a lower maximum load,
• to use this equipment if it has suffered a fall from a
person,
• to use this equipment as a means of suspension or for
maintaining the work station.
• to use this equipment in a highly corrosive or explosive
atmosphere,
• to use this equipment outside the temperature range
specified in this manual,
• to use this equipment if the clearance is not sufficient
in case of a fall of the person,
• to use this equipment if you are not in good physical
condition,
• to use this equipment if you are pregnant,
• to use this equipment if the safety function of any of
the associated items is affected by the safety function
of another item or may interfere with it,
• to release the lanyard of this equipment when it is not
completely rolled up (figure 2.a).
• to use this equipment to secure a material's load,
• to connect this equipment to a structural anchorage
point whose strength is less than 12 kN or assumed to
be less than 12 kN,
• to use this equipment for vertical angles greater than
20° (figure 1.c).
• to use this equipment's lanyard as a means of slinging,
• to interfere with the alignment of this equipment with
the lanyard,
• to interfere with the unwinding and free winding of the
fall arrest rope of this equipment.
• to perform any repair or maintenance operations on
this equipment without first having been trained and
qualified, in writing, by TRACTEL
• to use this equipment if it is not complete, if it has been
dismantled beforehand or if components have been
replaced by any person unauthorised by TRACTEL
• to use the automatic fall arrest device blocfor™
20R/30R 150 kg by an operator whose mass,
including equipment and tools, exceeds 150 kg.
• to lift a load with the automatic fall arrest device
blocfor™ 20R/30R.
• create a slack rope when rescuing down
7. Installation
• Whenever possible, the structural anchor point will
be above the operator. The anchor point must have a
minimum strength of 12 kN.
• Connection to the anchor point or structure must be
made using an EN 362 connector or the screw on the
Tractel console for blocfor™ 20 and 30 R
• For the connection of the fall arrest system to the
fall arrest harness, refer to the instructions for the
harness and the fall arrest system in order to use the
correct attachment point and the correct method of
attachment.
8. Components and materials
• Cables: galvanized steel.
• Energy absorber: PA + PES.
• Housing : PA/ABS or aluminium for 30 m models.
• Hanging parts: galvanized steel.
9. Associated equipment
In accordance with EN 363, the fall arrest system with
automatic return blocfor™ 20R/30R 150 kg is integrated
into a fall arrest system, which must include:
• An anchorage (EN 795).
• An end connector (EN 362).
• A fall arrest system (EN 360) with lifting rescue device
(EN 1496).
