Due to the nature of the multi-tool, the
following risks may occur:
• Flinging away of parts or breakage
of the sanding surface, the insert
tool or the processed material with
serious risk of injury or blindness, if
prescribed protective goggles are not
worn;
• Contact with sharp or hot parts of the
workpiece or insert tool during opera-
tion and maintenance;
• Damage to the hearing if the pre-
scribed ear defenders not worn,
• Inhalation of abrasive particles of the
material and the abrasive surface.
General safety information for
power tools
WARNING! Read all safety infor-
mation, instructions, illustrations
and technical data pertaining to this
power tool. Failure to follow the following
instructions may cause electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
Store all safety notes and instructions for
future reference.
The term 'power tool' as used in the
safety notes refers to mains-operated
power tools (with a power cable) or to
battery-operated power tools (without a
power cable).
Safety at work
a) Keep your work area clean and well
lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite
accidents.
b) Do not operate the power tool in
explosive atmospheres where flam
mable liquids, gases or dusts are

present. Power tools create sparks,
which may ignite dust or vapours.
c) Keep children and bystanders
away when operating a power tool.
Distractions may cause you to lose
control of the power tool.
Electrical safety
a) The plug of the power tool must
fit into the socket. The plug may
not be modified in any way. Do
not use an adapter in conjunction
with protectiveearth power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching out-
lets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed
surfaces such as pipes, radiators,
cookers and refrigerators. There is
an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain
or wet conditions. The ingress of
water into a power tool will increase
the risk of an electric shock.
d) Do not misuse the connecting cable
by using it to carry the power tool,
to hang it up or to pull the plug out
of the socket. Keep the connecting
cable away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled connecting cables increase
the risk of an electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool out
doors, use only extension cords
that have been designed for out
door use. The use of an extension
cord suitable for the outdoors will
reduce the risk of an electric shock.
f) If it is not possible to avoid using
the power tool in a damp envi
ronment, use a faultcurrent cir
