The connection to the power supply is effected by
means of the 16 A CEE plug located on the right
side of the switch box. The required mains cable
must at least correspond to HO7 RN-F and must
have a cross section of 5 x 2.5 mm².
When connecting make sure that the operating
voltage is 400 V and the frequency is between 50
and 60 Hz. Regarding the voltage, however, it is
possible to work with some higher or lower volt-
ages if a tolerance range of ± 10 % will not be ex-
ceeded. The mains connection must be protected
by 16 A slow-blow fuses.
Note that the direction of rotation of the cutting tool
must be correct. This is the case, if the cutting tool
rotates counterclockwise when looking at it through
the workpiece feed opening. If this is not the case,
remove the mains plug from the socket and inter-
change 2 phases in the socket (e. g. L1 with L2).

2.4 Connection of extraction unit

The tenon cutting machine is suitable for operation
without extraction as well as for connection to an
internal extractor unit. It is, therefore, equipped with
2 hose connectors with 100 mm (3
ter each (no. 3 - ill. 2).
If working on enclosed premises, the machine must
be connected to an extractor unit assuring an air
velocity at both hose connectors of at least 20 m/s
(65.6 ft/s). For connection, hardly inflammable flexi-
ble extraction hoses must be used of which the
cross section has to correspond to the one of the
hose connector before they join. After the joining,
the section of the continuing hose must be at least
140 mm (5

in.).

When using the machine outdoors or on enclosed
premises for short periods, the machine can be con-
verted so that the chips produced are ejected to the
bottom. For this purpose, handle screws (no. 5 - ill. 4)
provided on both sides have to be loosened and
flaps (no. 4 - ill. 4) have to be opened. Afterwards,
the handle screws have to be retightened again.
Never reach into the machine through the
open flaps, e. g. in order to remove the
chips collected, while the machine is
operating. Otherwise, you risk to touch the running
cutting tool!

3.2 Switching equipment

The operating elements of the electric switching
equipment of the machine are clearly and ergono-
mically arranged on the control panel at the opera-
ting place (see ill. 5). The switches shown in ill. 5
have the following functions:
6. Main switch: To cut off the complete electrical
