– Never work with pieces which are too big or too
small for the machine's capacity.
– Never change the position, i. e. the angle, of the
cutting assembly when cutting is in process.
Instructions as to service and maintenance
– Prior to any maintenance work, pull out the mains
plug from the socket at the machine or switch off
the main switch and lock it by means of a pad-
lock to prevent the machine from being inadver-
tently switched on.
– Only original MAFELL spare parts and accessories
must be used. Otherwise the manufacturer does
not offer any warranty and does not accept any
liability.
– It is important to regularly check the machine,
especially the guideways of the cutting assembly
and the smooth adjustment of the slides at the
feed opening.
– Regular cleaning of the cutting tool is important
as well. Keep them sharp and clean in order to
guarantee proper and safe operation. Follow the
instructions regarding maintenance and tool
change.

Installation

2.1 Delivery and transport

The machine must not be unloaded or
transported with a crane or other lifting
devices but with a fork lift truck only.
For unloading and transportation to the final place
of installation, a fork lift truck must be used only.
Make sure that the machine is only lifted at the
operating side (side with the control panel) and that
both forks are positioned under the transport device
marked in blue (no. 1 - ill. 1) and bolted to the fra-
me.
When moving, lift the machine by a few centime-
ters only.
After unloading the machine should be checked
immediately for any damage which may have oc-
curred in transit. Damaged packing may indicate
incorrect handling during transportation. Damages
in transit have to be confirmed in any case by the
forwarding agent in the shipping document. Only
then, the insurance company of the forwarding
agent can be held liable for the damage.
Should the machine not be operated right after arri-
val, it has to be stored on dry premises subject to
temperatures between + 5° and + 40°. If stored
over a longer period of time, it is recommended to
check the preservation of the bright parts occasion-
ally and to exchange them if required.

2.2 Setting up

The machine must be operated outdoors
only with protection against rain and in
areas not subject to explosion hazards.
When selecting the place of installation of the ma-
chine, sufficient free space around the machine has
to be available considering the space required by
the tenon cutting machine and the size of the
workpieces to be cut. The space required by the
machine is shown in ill. 3.
No fastening is required for the installation of the
machine. A good load-bearing floor is sufficient.
The tenon cutting machine is adjusted horizontally
by means of the adjusting screws of the machine
base and a level positioned on the workpiece sup-
port.
Then, fix the 2 feet to the workpiece supporting
table and fix the workpiece supporting table to the
machine by means of two hexagon-head screws 13
mm (SW 13) delivered with the machine and adjust
so that both supporting surfaces are aligned in
height and both vertical guide borders are in align-
ment as well.
Caution: After installation, transport device
(no. 1 - ill. 1) has to be removed by loosening
the two fastening screws (no. 2 - ill. 1). Other-
wise, a collision with this part will take place
during the stroke of the cutting assembly!

2.3 Electric connection

The machine will be delivered with complete elec-
tric wiring. The wiring diagrams are stored in the
switch box.
Any work on the electrical installation
must be carried out only by a qualified el-
ectrician.
