Connecting the luminaire to
the supply voltage
To connect the luminaires, connecting
cables are recommended, which can be
found in the Waldmann range of acces-
sories.
NOTICE
Material damage caused by wrong
mains voltage.
Damage or destruction of the luminaire.
X The connection must be conducted
by a trained electrician only.
X Operate the luminaire at safety
extra low voltage (SELV) only.
X Observe the pin assignment and
the socket assignment.
X Use connecting cable with strands
which have a conductor cross-sec-
tion of at least 0.34 mm². For lumi-
naires with through-wiring, use a
connecting cable with a cross-sec-
tion of at least 1.5 mm².
X USA and Canada: This device
must be connected to a power
supply unit of class 2.
There are different pin assignments availa-
ble for the luminaire:
Type A
Type B
Type C
Type E
To be able to connect the luminaire, you
must know the pin assignment of the
luminaire.
NOTE: The pin assignment designation
can be found on the rating plate of the
luminaire.
22
X Check which designation is on the rat-
ing plate.
X When you connect the luminaire with
pin assignment Type C or Type E: Make
sure that the supply voltage and digital
switching signals have the same refer-
ence potential.
X The pin assignment can be found in the
following tables.
