5. Empty the water reservoir (13): Open the water reservoir cap (3), hold the iron over
a sink or similar outlet and turn it upside down. Allow all of the water to run out of the
water reservoir (12).
6. Connect the iron to the mains power again, move the steam switch (5) to position
(Steam on) and the temperature control (12) to the maximum setting for one to two
minutes so that the rest of the water evaporates. Repeat steps 1 to 4.
7. If necessary, wipe down the iron with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry it with
a soft cloth.
8. Once the bottom of the iron (1) has cooled down completely and the water reser-
voir (13) is empty, wind up the mains cable.
9. Store the iron in a dry, clean, frost-free place that is not accessible to children and
animals.

Troubleshooting

If the device does not work properly, fi rst check whether you are able to rectify the prob-
lem yourself using the following list.
Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself!
Problem
The device does not
work. The operating
lamp (10) does not
light up / fl ash.
No steam is pro-
duced.
Water emerges from
the bottom of the
iron (1).
23
Possible cause / solution
Is the mains plug inserted as far as it will go in the plug
socket?
Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket and
check the fuse of the mains connection.
Is the water reservoir (13) empty? Top up the water res-
ervoir.
The device has not yet reached the operating temperature.
Wait until the heat control lamp (11) goes out.
Is the temperature control (12) on a temperature setting
that is too low? The higher the temperature setting, the bet-
ter the steam production.
Is the steam switch (5) in position
to position
(Steam on).
Press the steam burst button (6) 2 to 3 times to start the
production of steam.
At high temperatures the steam produced is dry and almost
invisible. This is exacerbated by a high ambient tempera-
ture. Reduce the temperature to check whether the device
is producing steam.
Is the water reservoir (13) overfi lled? Pour away a little wa-
ter (see the "After Use / Cleaning and Storage" chapter).
Is the temperature control (12) on a low temperature set-
ting? Select a higher temperature setting so that steam can
be generated.
(Steam off)? Move it
