Device Functions

• The device features temperature control which maintains the chosen temperature
at a constant level while the iron is connected to the mains power.
• The steam switch (5) can be used to activate and deactivate steam production.
When steam production has been activated, steam escapes from the bottom of the
iron during ironing.
• In addition, the iron can also emit a strong blast of steam, e.g. for smoothing stub-
born creases or textiles which are hanging up.
• The device has a stand-by function. If it is not moved, it reverts to stand-by after
approx. 1 minute in a horizontal position, and after approx. 8 minutes in a vertical
position (on its base (9)). The operating lamp (10) fl ashes in stand-by mode. When
the device is moved again, it switches on. CAUTION: It takes a little while for the
bottom of the iron (1) to cool down. Never leave the device unattended while it
is connected to the mains!
• The device switches off if it overheats.
• The anti-limescale fi lter removes limescale from the tap water.

Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
■ Danger of suffocation from plastic fi lms and bags! Keep children and animals away
from the packaging material.
Water residues in the water reservoir are attributable to the fact that the device
has been tested and do not constitute a defect.
• Unpack the items supplied and check them for completeness (see the "Items Sup-
plied and Device Overview" chapter) and possible transport damage. If the device,
the mains plug or the mains cable is damaged, do not use the device(!), but contact
our customer service department.
• Before using the device, remove all packaging materials and any labels that may be
on the device and are used for protection during transportation or for advertising.
• Before the iron is used on an item of clothing for the fi rst time, iron over a damp scrap
piece of fabric to remove any possible production residues from the bottom of the iron
(see the "Use" chapter).
• It is essential that you read through the "Ironing Recommendations" chapter before
you fi rst use the device!
