§5.4 - Steel sliding tubes
•
The steel sliding tubes for trailer / semi-trailer chassis
have predetermined mounting positions [See Fig. 5.15].
Their position on the vehicle chassis is fixed.
§5.5 - Mounting the sliding tubes to the vehicle chassis
•
Validate the mounting position of the HTL and its sliding
tubes before fastening the mounting brackets. If the slid-
ing tubes wouldn't fit with the initial set-up of the end
stops, these can be moved and adjusted accordingly. Or
the tubes can be shortened in order to make them fit [See
Fig. 5.16].
•
When fastening the mounting brackets, and the sliding
tubes, make sure the alignment in all directions is correct:
1. The alignment of the mounting brackets in comparison
to the chassis [See side view Fig. 5.17].
2. Except for chamfered chassis, the parallelism of the
sliding tubes to the chassis [See side view Fig. 5.18].
3. The parallelism between the 2 sliding tubes, one in
comparison to the other [Top view Fig. 5.19].
•
Note: for semi-trailers or trailers with chamfered chassis,
special slide plates with an angle compensation of 1.5°
and 3° are available upon request. Consult your
DHOLLANDIA agent further information.
