To make sure that the fans are always in good working order, it is advisable that they are checked
once a month.
Check the overall state of the fan, that there are no points of corrosion on the body (these should be
cleaned and touched up using a zinc based paint) and that the fan is tightly fixed to the body of the
unit (not loose) and that there are no unusual noises coming from the bearings.
,Q WKH FDVH RI &' XQLWV ZLWK EHOW GULYH IDQV, the state and the tension of the drive belt should be
checked.
To modify the tension of the drive belt, one must adjust the position of the motor. To make this
operation easier, the motor is placed on guides (for sideways movement, to allign the pulleys) and on
a slide (for lengthwise movement, to tension the belt.
Each time that the belt tension is modified, check also the alignment of the pulleys. To ensure the
pulleys are aligned, one can use a simple ruler (see fig. 7).
If the pulleys have a different thickness, then act as in fig. 8.
