2. Operational start up

2.1 Preparing the coffee machine

Carefully remove the appliance and all the accessory parts from the packaging.

Please note: If a service is necessary, you can return the appliance by mail in
its original packaging without any problems. You should therefore save the
original packaging material in a convenient place.
•
Remove the water tank (10) and rinse it with cold clear tap water.
•
Then fill the tank to the maximum mark and place it into the coffee machine.
Please ensure that it clicks into place well when inserting.

Use only clear cold water when filling the tank, and never use carbonated
water or other liquids.

Open the cover to the bean holder (11) and fill it with coffee beans.

Do not use any coffee beans that have been treated with additives such as
sugar when being roasted. These could lead to damage to the mill, and the
repair costs arising from this are not covered by the guarantee.

2.2 Major operating elements and menu structure

Rotel fully-automatic coffee machines are characterised by their simple operation.
The two operating elements have the following basic functions:
•
Left control knob (2):
- This serves as a combined switch and knob for water, milk and bean quantity set-
tings on the first menu level.
- For all other menu level it can be used as an exit switch.
•
Right control knob (3):
- On the first menu level you choose your drink by turning this knob. If you press
this knob you start preparation of the drink selected on the display.
- On the second menu levels (settings) this control is used to navigate and confirm.
Menu structure
In order that you can find your way around the different menu levels, the following
provides a general overview of the displays in the menu structure:
Menu level 1:
Espresso, Coffee, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, Milk, My coffee, Water, Setting
From menu level 1 pressing «Setting» will take you to menu level 2.
Menu level 2:
Recipes, Care, Filter, Water hardness, Temperature, Language, Off-Rinse, Eco-mode,
ASO-mode, Statistic, Reset, Exit
