NOTICE
Avoid flow cavitation!
• A settling section must be provided upstream and downstream of the pump in the
form of a straight pipe. The length of the settling section must be at least 5 times
the nominal diameter of the pump flange.
ƒ
The pipes and pump must be free of mechanical stress when installed.
ƒ
The pipes must be fixed in such a way that the pump does not have to support the
weight of the pipes.
ƒ
Clean and flush the unit before connecting the pipes.
ƒ
The direction of flow must correspond with the direction arrow on the pump flange.
ƒ
The air vent valve at the lantern (Fig. I, Item 28) must always be pointing upwards if
the motor shaft is horizontal (Fig. 8). If the motor shaft is vertical, any orientation is
permitted. See also chapter "Permissible installation positions".
