7.7 Working with the parallel guide fence
The parallel guide fence E is used for sawing in parallel to an existing edge. The guide fence can be mounted
on the right (motor side) or the left (tool side) side of the machine. The possible adjustable distance is 195 to
575 mm [7.7 to 22.6 in] on the right side and 130 mm to 370 mm [5.1 to 14.6 in] on the left side.
Use the following procedure to install the
parallel guide fence:
1.
Loosen the wing screws 6 on each side.
2.
Insert the parallel guide fence E into the guide
provided for this purpose.
It can be mounted on the left or right side
of the machine.
3.
Tighten the wing screws 6 on each side.
The parallel guide fence is installed.
Use the following procedure to adjust the
parallel guide fence:
1.
Loosen the four wing screws 6.
2.
Adjust the parallel guide fence E in the guide.
When you adjust the parallel guide fence
E on the motor side, the protruding motor
requires the machine to be raised for
small distances.
3.
Tighten the four wing screws 6.
The milling range is adjusted.
Alternatively, you can guide the machine with the parallel guide fence along a guide rail
or a wooden ledge fixed on the workpiece. This requires the parallel guide fence to be
rotated so that the guide tab 24 points upwards. See also chapter 7.8.2 Working with
separate guide rails for grooves and birthmouths.
