6.4.2
Tool clamping check
Safe operation of the machine is only possible when the tool is clamped. The tightening torque must be
checked during assembly, before each restart and at regular intervals during longer working periods. Use a
suitable torque wrench to check. The tightening torque of the tool must be at least 20 Nm. Bring the machine to
its lowest position when checking the tool clamping (see chapter 7.4 Milling depth setting). Otherwise, the inner
fixed protective milling guard will become visible, and the position indicator cannot be properly aligned.
Use the following procedure to check the tool
clamping:
1.
Pull out the power plug of the machine.
2.
Put down the cable where you can see it.
3.
Put the disconnected machine on a flat
surface.
4.
Press and hold the pushbutton 23.
5.
Operate the plunge bar 1 to bring the machine
to its lowest position.
6.
Press and hold the pushbutton (8).
7.
Pull the locking lever (4) upwards.
The switch actuator is locked.
8.
To move the movable guard to the maximum
open position, either use the pre-feed lever
(13) or do it manually.
9.
Position the position indicator D in one of the
bores in the milling head.
10. Move the position indicator D clockwise
toward the rear and upwards until it is in
contact with the upper milling guard.
The tool is locked for checking the tool
clamping.
