3.4 Intended use
SIMATIC products are designed for the automation of machines and process engineering systems as well as process control
technology.
The SIMATIC ET 200SP HA distributed I/O system is an I/O system for connecting process signals to a higher-level controller via
PROFINET IO.
The product is open equipment. It is intended exclusively for installation in a suitable enclosure or control cabinet or a
suitable electrical operating room. Information on the IP degree of protection can be found in the technical specifications for
the respective product or on the product itself.
The enclosure or control cabinet in which the products are installed is referred to below as the "enclosure/control cabinet" for
short.
