The cooling effect of air decreases at greater heights due to the lower density. The following table shows the derating factor
for the maximum permissible ambient temperature depending on the use of the products at an altitude above mean sea level
(MSL):

Note that I/O modules with relay contacts are suitable only for a height up to 3000 m.

The installation depth of the ET 200SP HA is 162 mm. This results from the plugged-together components (mounting rail,
carrier module, terminal block and I/O module). At least 10 mm of space should remain clear in front of the front panel of the
modules.
Observe the minimum clearances of the I/O device in the control cabinet and from surrounding components. Leave enough
space for wiring and connection of the communication cables. When installing the mounting rail, you must ensure adherence
to the following clearances in millimeters:

Input and output channels (I/O)
The electrical connection of the input and output channels is made via the terminal blocks.
The terminal blocks can support the following electrical and mechanical functions in the IO device, depending on the type:
Electrical functions:

Feeding of supply voltage (L+/M)
•
Forming of potential groups or potential distribution
•
Redundant configuration of the I/O modules
•
Module type-specific connection to the process terminals
Mechanical functions:
•
Together with the carrier modular as slot of the I/O modules
Potential groups involve groups of components that are connected to a common supply voltage. In the case of the ET 200SP
HA distributed I/O system, you form the potential groups through arrangement of the terminal blocks. Each light-gray
terminal block that you mount in the IO device begins a new potential group.
Each dark-gray terminal block continues the potential group.
