Mounting in the enclosure/control cabinet
WARNING
Serious injury or death.
Tilting or falling of the enclosure/control cabinet may result in serious injury or death. Before you start the installation:
•
Always make sure that the enclosure/control cabinet is firmly and securely anchored
The products are mounted on mounting system systems without tools or with standard tools. These can be commercially
available systems (such as DIN rail) or systems specially designed for the products.
The mounting systems themselves are fastened in the enclosure/control cabinet with screws, for which you need standard
tools (e.g. screwdriver, ratchet spanner).
More detailed information can be found in the technical specifications of the respective products.
5.2
Electrical connection
DANGER
Electric shock
Only ever carry out installation and disassembly work when the power supply is switched off.
Only if this is explicitly described in this document may certain activities be carried out under voltage. Then proceed exactly
as described.
The ET200 SP HA I/O modules can be replaced while energized without a touch hazard, but the terminal blocks cannot.
In the case of isolated circuits, the following applies:
If an ET 200SP HA module with isolated connections is accidentally plugged into a redundant terminal block together with a
module that has no isolated connections, the permissible potential difference of the isolated circuits may cause a voltage at
the M connection that can destroy the module without isolated connections.
DANGER
Explosion hazard
In Ex applications, the following applies:
In Ex applications, disconnecting and closing connections is dangerous because sparks can be generated and there is
therefore a risk of explosion. Plugging and unplugging modules, plug-in connectors or other electrical connections is also
dangerous for the same reason.
Make sure that no explosive atmosphere can be present for the duration of required work.
DANGER
Electric shock due to externally powered system components
The following applies to external supply:
Even if the main supply to the system is disconnected, externally supplied system components can continue to carry
voltage. An electric shock on contact with live parts can lead to death or serious injury. Therefore, make sure that the
system is completely de-energized before starting work. All externally supplied system components must also be
disconnected from power supply.
DANGER
Electric shock due to permissible potential difference
In the case of isolated connections, the following applies:
Due to the permissible potential difference, a touch-hazardous voltage can be present at the connections even if the plant
has already been safely disconnected. An electric shock caused by contact with live parts can lead to death or serious injury.
Therefore, make sure that the isolated connections are completely de-energized before starting work.
The connection technology of the products is screwed or with spring-loaded/push-in terminals. To install the connections,
you need tools specially designed for electrical work with appropriate insulation.
You can use solid wire or stranded wire for the electrical connection.
In the case of screw connections, you use suitable wire end ferrules.
