IMPORTANT!
We do not assume any liability for lack of or insufficient descaling. In this case, the warranty will become null and void.
Remove the water filter cartridge from the water tank.
Remove the group handle.
Unscrew the screw under the brewing unit.
Remove the 2 screens, the washer and the sealing ring.
Clean the filters and the sealing ring under running water.
Dry them up well and put them in a safe place together with the screw and the washer.
Take a small brush, clear the section in the brewing unit, and remove all old coffee remnants.
Fill the water tank with 2.5 litres water.
Place the descaling tablets in the tank and wait until they have dissolved. This may last up to 5 minutes.
Put a large pot underneath the brewing unit.
Press the P button 6 times.
"KALK" appears on the display.
Press the + button.
The display shows "CO KALK".
Confirm this process with the P button.
The descaling process for the brewing unit starts.
When the descaling process is complete, "KALK" appears on the display.
Place a large container under the steam distributor.
Press the P button 6 times.
"KALK" appears on the display.
Press the + button until "ST KALK" appears on the display.
Confirm this process with the P button.
"CHECK" is shown on the display.
Turn the rotary knob of the steam lance so that it is completely open.
The descaling process for the steam lance starts.
Once the descaling process has been completed, "CHECK" appears on the display.
Turn off the rotary knob again.
"GRAEF" is shown on the display.
The descaling process for both circuits is complete.
After descaling, allow the machine to cool down.
Insert the 2 screens, the washer and the sealing ring again.
Screw the screw back in again.
Insert a water filter cartridge into the water tank. We recommend that you replace it after every descaling. You can obtain replacement water
filter cartridges in our online shop at www.graef.de under item No. 146242 or from your specialist dealer.
IMPORTANT!
The cartridge does not provide complete protection against calcification – regular replacement of the cartridge does not mean that you
should forego descaling.
RINSE AFTER DECALCIFICATION
To flush the remaining mixture out of the pipes, fill fresh water into the water tank.
Then carry out the following flushing processes one after the other:
1. Allow water to run through the brewing unit for 20 seconds (empty draw without coffee grounds).
2. Open the steam valve for 20 seconds.

IMPORTANT!
We recommend to carry out backwashing once a week.
For cleaning, we recommend to use Graef descaling tablets. You can obtain them in our online shop at www.graef.de under item No.
145614 or from your specialist dealer.
If the unit is switched off, switch it on and wait until it has heated up.
Fill the tank with water.
