INSTALLING THE BATTERY
Read carefully indications given on
p. 66 (BATTERY).

Remove the battery cover as specified
on p. 59 (REMOVING THE BATTERY
COVER
).

Seat the battery.

Connect the battery breather tube.

CAUTION
Battery breather tube should always be
connected to avoid that sulphuric acid
vapours might corrode the electric sys-
tem, painted parts, rubber parts or seals
when coming off the breather.

Reconnect the (red) positive cable (+)
first and then the negative cable (-).
◆
Coat terminals and clamps with special
grease or Vaseline.
◆
Fit the battery cover as specified on p. 59
(REMOVING THE BATTERY COVER
).

tric cables to their correct position so
that they are not squashed.

Proceed with utmost care. Tongues
and/or seat grooves should not be dam-
aged.
NOTE
Ensure that both tongues are
properly seated.

Tighten the retaining screws (1) on the
battery cover (2).

Close the glove compartment as speci-
fied on p. 24 (GLOVE COMPART-
MENT).
