To carry out this operation, proceed as fol-
lows:

Drive for a few miles until the engine
reaches the normal running temperature,
then stop the engine.

Remove the central inspection

Connect an electronic revolution counter
to the spark plug cable.

Before proceeding, make sure that the
room in which you are working is prop-
erly ventilated.

Start the engine.
The minimum speed of the engine (idling)
must be about 1600 ± 200 rpm; in this case
the engine does not make the rear wheel
rotate.

Remove the rear cover, see p. 60 (RE-
MOVING THE REAR COVER).

Working from the vehicle right-hand side,
turn adjuster screw (1) onto carburettor.
NOTE
Do not act on the air adjusting
screw (3), to avoid variations of the carbu-
ration setting.

Lift the seat as specified on p. 23 (UN-
LOCKING / LOCKING THE SEAT).

Remove the cover into the glove com-
partment to the carburettor.
◆
Turn the adjusting screw (2).
TURN CLOCKWISE to increase rotation
speed;
TURN ANTI-CLOCKWISE to decrease
rotation speed.
◆
Turn the twistgrip up and down several
times to check for proper operation and
ensure that idling is steady.
