Electrical characteristics
The main characteristics are shown on the manufacturer's plates.
Instructions that the motor is not to be operated outside the parameters shown on the respective motor
performance curves.
5.3 Assembly and utilization conditions
5.3.1 Upon delivery
All servomotors are thoroughly inspected during manufacture and tested at length before shipment.
•
Unpack the servomotor carefully and check it is in good condition;
•
Also check that the data on the manufacturer's plate complies with the data on the
order acknowledgement.
If the equipment has been damaged during transport, the addressee must file a
complaint with the carrier by recorded delivery within 24 hours.
Caution: The packaging may contain documents or accessories essential to the user.
5.3.2 Storage
Ensure that the motor is not lifted by the end of the shaft or by the cables when handling the product.
The servomotor must be stored in a dry place safe from sudden temperature changes so that
condensation cannot form whilst awaiting installation.
If the servomotor is to be stored for a long period of time, check that the shaft end and the flange
surface are coated with a corrosion resistant product.
Following prolonged storage of more than 3 months, run the motor at low speed in both directions to
homogenize the grease on the bearings.
Put a little grease between the two lips of the double lip seal on IP 65 servomotors.
5.4 Installation
5.4.1 Preparation
Once installed, it must be possible to access the wiring, and read the manufacturer's plate. Air must be
able to circulate around the motor for cooling purposes. The motor must be fitted on to a plate with
good thermal conduction so that heat is expelled and does not exceed 40°C.
Ambient temperatures must not exceed 40°C.
Clean the drive shaft using a cloth soaked in white spirit, alcohol, making sure that it does not get on to
the bearings.
The servomotor must be in a horizontal position for cleaning.
When operating, the motor can be in any position.
Do not forget that the surface temperature of the motor is restricted to 135°C.
A caution to not operate the motor in hazardous location with any securing screws or covers removed
and to not remove any screws or cover while motor is in a hazardous location
