CUTOUT CABLES FOR WING UNITS
(fig. 77)
If the cutting cylinders continue to revolve when the
units are raised 20° from the ground, then the cutout
cables may have stretched and will require adjustment.
To adjust:
(a)
Adjustment is provided at the inner end of the
unit lift arm (A fig. 77) and the adjustment
should be carried out with the unit in the
lowered position.
(b)
Tighten cable adjuster until there is 1.5mm
(1/16") clearance between the shoulder of the
outer cable and the adjuster.
CUTTING UNTIL TORSION SPRINGS
These springs are preset on the machine before leaving
the factory, but the pressure on each unit can be
checked by using a spring balance. The spring
balance should be positioned at the pivot bracket of
each unit and the reading should be between 55 and
64kg (120 - 140lb) Magna unit or 30 and 35kg (67 -
76lb) Sportcutter unit. If these readings are not
obtained, the springs can be adjusted to increase or
decrease the tension.
TORSION SPRING ADJUSTMENT
(fig. 78 and 79)
To increase tension (less unit weight on ground):
1.
Lower the unit to the ground.
2.
Slowly raise the unit until catch (A) can be
pivoted behind the tension nut (B). Slightly
raise arm and unit until catch (E) can be
securely located into next slot in nut (B).
3.
Lower arm and unit to ground.
To decrease tension (more unit weight on ground):
1.
Raise cutting unit to transport position.
2.
Slowly lower unit until catch (A) cab be pivoted
into position behind tension nut (B).
3.
Release the weight on the arm and disengage
catch (E). Lower unit and arm to next slot in
tension nut (B).
