DETACHING THE MOWER FROM THE TRACTOR
1.
Ensure all the units are in the raised position
and locked with the safety catches.
2.
If a transporting trolley is to be used this should
now be fixed to the mower frame. If a trolley is
not available, suitable blocks should be
positioned to support the rear frame of the
mower.
3.
Detach the mower in reverse order to the
assembly instructions.
CUTTING UNIT REMOVAL
Before attempting to remove a cutting unit from the
machine, it is imperative that the tension is released
from the torsion springs on the cutting unit lift arms. To
release the tension on the springs proceed as follows
(see fig. 42 and 43).
(a)
Lift the unit into the raised transport position.
(b)
Lower the unit slowly until the catch (A) can be
pivoted into position behind the spring tension
nut (B fig. 42).
NOTE: On the 6th and 7th unit arms only the front
torsion springs can be used for releasing the tension.
The bracket (A fig. 43) has to be reversed to enable the
tension nut (B) to be trapped. Re-tighten
screw (C).
(c)
Release the weight on the arm and disengage
catch (E fig. 42). and 43).
(d)
Lower the arm to ground level.
(e)
If the tension on the spring has not been
released completely and catch (A) is not free,
then catch (E) must be re-engaged. Lift unit
again until catch (A) can be relocated behind
nut (B), release catch (E) and again lower unit
onto ground.
(f)
On units 6 and 7, lift unit to the raised transport
position, release catch (D) and again.
WARNING NOTE: Do not stand over the arm or the unit
whilst releasing the spring tension.
Remember that is not necessary to disconnect any
