Check that the hydraulic draft control lever is in
the fully raised position to give full hydraulic oil
flow and that the flow valve lever is in the slow
position (fig. 51)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The control lever for raising and
lowering the tractor linkage must not be altered, as
the positions are locked by the stabiliser bars
attached to the mower frame (see fig. 51).
4.
MF 20D and MF 245 Tractors:
Check to see that the Hydraulic Selector Valve
(A fig. 52) is set in the required "External 2"
position for operating the single acting service
port.
IMPORTANT: Before operating the tractor selector
valve lever ensure that the positional control lever
(A fig. 53) is in the transport and the Draft Control
Lever (B fig. 53) is in the fully up position. Set the
flow control lever (fig. 54) to the slow (A) position.

Release the safety catches on the cutting units
(fig. 55).
NOTE: It may be necessary to slightly raise the units
to release the load on the catches.
6.
Start the tractor and push the control levers
downwards to lower the units and put them into
the "float" position. Push the drive control
levers downwards to engage the cylinder drive
to the units.
7.
Engage the selected gear of the tractor (see
cutting performance chart) in readiness for
mowing, and move off.
