LUBRICATION
Read the safety instructions
For recommended lubricants see specifications
If the number of working hours that the machine is in
use during the indicated period exceeds the number
quoted in brackets, then use the recommended working
hour guide for lubrication.
Before using the machine for the first time:
(a)
Lubricate all points.
(b)
Check that the hydraulic oil level is midway up
the sight glass of the tank (A fig. 57). If
necessary top up with Shell Tellus 46 oil.
Engage drive to cutting cylinders. Circulate the
oil through the system and check the level
again. If necessary top up to correct level.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not run the machine if the level
of oil falls below the bottom of the sight glass.
Weekly:
(Every 40 working hours)
1.
Lubricate the rear rolls (A fig. 58) with Shell
Retinax 'A' grease, or equivalent. Rotate the roll
continuously during lubrication.
NOTE: Lubricate more often in dusty or wet conditions.
2.
Lubricate the following points using S.A.E. 30 oil
or Shell Retinax 'A' grease.

Cutting cylinder bearing housing pivots
