Operating failures and their causes

Failure
Winch does not operate
Load does not stop when
motor is switches off
Winch will not lift load, is
overheating, and / or does
not lift at rated speed.
Winch lifts, but does not

or disposed according to legal regulations!

No power to winch motor
Fuse is effective
Incorrect voltage or frequency Compare voltage and frequency rating on winch
Winch is overloaded
Motor is burned out.
Brake does not open
Brake is worn out
Winch is overloaded.
Rotor is dragging in stator.

"Down" or "Up" circuit is open. Check circuit for loose connections.
Fault in the control circuit

Elimination
Check connections, plugs, cables and fuses
Insert new fuse, press button.

nection while winch is operated under load.
Check suspended load. Reduce the load.

Send wire rope winch in for inspection (see page 23)
Reduce load to rated capacity.

Check limit switch for correct adjustment
