Prevention of accidents

Destined use
The electric wire rope winch THETA is a power operated winch fixed to a console for lifting and
lowering of loads.
The unavoidable stay under statically suspended load without secondary backup is
possible (expert test report "Test certificate 2019 / THETA", see also point 1.3 safety
instructions).
Not suitable for use in explosive danger area.
Not suitable for use in corrosive atmosphere.
Alterations to the winch or fitting of accessories are only allowed with our written approval.

Safety instructions
Operation, installation and maintenance work should only be executed by:
Competent, qualified persons
(definition of experts acc. to IEC 364) Qualified persons for reasons of their training, experience and instruction are persons who
do their necessary activities without danger and who can avoid this danger due to their knowledge of directives, regulations for
the prevention of accidents and standards. These persons are responsible for the security of the installation.
The unavoidable stay under statically suspended load is possible under the following criteria:
Static suspended load in conjunction with a suspension using THETA-El. Winch with very rare lifting
movement.
In the course of each lifting movement, the test points 1.5 must be observed.
The lifting system may only be left in a safe condition after the lifting movement.
To de-energize the winch.
If damage is detected, it must be remedied immediately knowledgeable
(for example, note / check: laying criteria for wire ropes - see DIN 15020-2)
During the lifting movement, persons are forbidden in the danger area of the load.
Scenic operation is prohibited.
The striking of the loads to be lifted is possible directly on the support means of the winch (wire rope)
or via a load-bearing means connected to the support means. Rope ends of suspension elements shall
be made in accordance with point 1.7.
The load handling equipment and the load to be lifted must not be dangerous, e.g. loose, possibly
drooping parts go out. The load must not swing. Safe lifting of the load to be lifted must be carried out
and checked by the expert operator.
Since winches are used in different applications / structures, it is necessary to carry out individual risk
assessments according to DIN ISO 12100 for the actual operating conditions before commissioning.
The transport of persons is prohibited.
Never touch moving parts.
Defects must be repaired immediately by competent trained personnel.
