approval from TRACTEL SAS. The equipment
must be transported and stored in its original
packaging.
6. Any fall-prevention anchoring device that
GB
has not been inspected in the past 12
months or which has arrested a fall must
not be used. It can only be used again af-
ter a new periodic inspection carried out by
an approved and competent technician who
can authorise its use in writing. Failing these
reviews and approvals, the fall-prevention
anchoring device will be disassembled and
destroyed.
7. The working load limit for Tractel
vention anchoring devices is 150 kg per
operator.
8. If the mass of the operator plus the mass
of his/her equipment and tools is between
100 kg and 150 kg, it is crucial to ensure that
this total mass (operator + equipment + tools)
does not exceed the working load limit of any
individual component in the fall arrest system.
9. This device is suitable for use on an open-air
site and within a temperature range of -35°C
to +60°C. It should not be brought into contact
with chemical substances.
10. If you are responsible for assigning the
equipment to an employee or person in a
similar capacity, ensure that you comply with
the applicable health and safety at work reg-
ulations.
11. The operator must be physically and mental-
ly fit when using this equipment. In case of
doubt, check with his/her doctor or with the
occupational physician. It is forbidden for use
by pregnant women.
12. The equipment must not be used beyond its
limits or in any other situation other than the
use it has been designed for (see "4. Func-
tions and description."
13. If the anchoring device is intended to halt
an operator's fall, the operator must use
a fall-arrest system that complies with
10
standard EN 363. This system must guar-
antee a fall-arrest tensile stress below 6kN.
If the anchoring device is intended solely to
restrict the operator's movement outside
fall risk zones, the operator may connect
to a structure using a lanyard, without
a fall prevention system, in accordance
with standard EN 363. In such cases, the
anchoring device will be described as "re-
stricted access".
14. Anchoring devices must be installed using
appropriate methods, and under safety con-
ditions that fully encompass and manage the
fall risks to which the installer is exposed due
fall-pre-
®
to the site configuration.
15. The user of the anchoring device must check
it and ensure that both this device and any
PPE associated with it are always compliant
with the safety requirements and with the
rules and standards applicable to this use.
The user must make sure that associated
PPE items are compatible with each other
and with the anchoring device.
16. Before using an EN 363 fall-arrest sys-
tem, the operator must ensure that each of
the components is in good working order.
When setting up, it is essential to ensure
that no deterioration of the safety functions
occurs.
17. In a fall-arrest system, it is essential to verify,
prior to each use, the free space under the
operator in the workplace, so that if the per-
son falls there is no risk of them hitting the
ground or any obstacle in their path.
18. A fall-arrest harness is the only body-grip-
ping device that is permitted for use in a
fall-arrest system.
19. It is essential for the safety of the operator
that the anchoring device is correctly posi-
tioned and that work is carried out so as to
minimise both the risk of falls and the work-
ing height.
20. For the safety of the operator, if the equip-
ment is sold outside the first country of
