Residual hazards

Injuries to fi ngers!
Fingers may be crushed or torn off near the cross connectors, as well as near the
transitions between successive belt sections.
Do not work within reach of the cross connectors or section transitions.
Falling conveyed material
Danger of injuries due to falling conveyed material.
Do not stand under the belt section.
Open section ends! No side guards!
The conveyed material can run over the open section ends and fall. The conveyed
material may tilt off the belt section if there are no side guards. There is a danger of
damage to property.
The user must provide a mechanical transfer safety device.
Perform a positioning calculation (moment of tilt) for the conveyed material and
apply in the system.

Operation

Hot electric motor surfaces during operation
Possible burns if the hot surface (over 70°C) is touched.
Provide appropriate safety devices to seal off the motors.

Notes on operation

8.1.1
Wear
Wear is caused by the basic principle of this system and cannot be avoided.
Constructive measures and selection of the proper materials will help functional
safety last for the lifetime of the system. However, wear depends on the operating,
maintenance, and ambient conditions of the system, as well as the location
(resistance, contamination).
Overloading the conveyor sections may damage the conveying medium and cause
the motor and gears to fail.
Function cannot be guaranteed if the pneumatic components are overloaded.
