The bus coupler is designed for use as a slave only on a
PROFIBUS DP bus system in accordance with EN 50170 Part 2.
A twisted, shielded pair of wires is used as a fieldbus cable. The
bus length can be up to 1.2 km (without a repeater) depending
on the transfer rate. Without a repeater, 32 bus participants
(slaves) per segment can be connected. With repeaters, this can
be expanded to up to 127 bus participants (slaves).
The bus coupler's station address is set using the S1 and S2
rotary switches.
The bus coupler is automatically set to the bus speed between
9.6 kbaud and 12 Mbaud.
The logic and valve control power supplies are monitored. If
they exceed or fall below a set limit, an error signal will be
generated and confirmed with the diagnostic LED and the
diagnostic information.
The bus coupler is available in 2 variants with 24 or 32 valve
outputs. This limits the maximum number of controllable valve
solenoids. Depending on the variant:
W
12 double solenoid or 24 single solenoid valves or
W
16 double solenoid or 32 single solenoid valves
can be controlled in this manner. Valve combinations are also
possible.
A bus coupler with 32 outputs can only be connected to a VS
that has been designed for 32 valve solenoids.
5.2.2 Input/output modules
Input/output modules with detachable plug connections allow
electrical input and output signals to be output via the valve
system's bus connection.
Input as well as output modules can be connected to the valve
system with bus coupler in any combination not exceeding
6 modules in total. Any order may be used.
O
Make sure to stay within the load limits.
The bus coupler supplies the inputs for the input modules. The
maximum total current for all inputs is 0.7 A.
The output module is supplied via an M12 connection, with one
power supply each for 4 outputs (see Table 11 on page 100).
