RECURRENT CONCEPTS
This part includes definitions of some less familiar concepts.
These concepts are used in several topics of the manual.
4.1 QuickStart® lighting system
The appliance is equipped with a QuickStart® lighting system.
This system allows you to light your appliance using nothing but
some old newspaper and a match. You do not have to add any
lighting fluids or firelighters. The system also works very quickly:
only 15 minutes after lighting the appliance, you can start grilling.
You find step-by-step descriptions of how to use the
QuickStart® system further in this manual.

The appliance is equipped with a QuickStop® extinguishing
system. This system allows you to extinguish and clean your
appliance in no time. After grilling, you just have to brush the
ashes into the water container at the bottom of the central pipe.
The water container of the QuickStop® system also adds to the
safety of the appliance. It increases the stability and puts out
glowing charcoal in case the appliance would fall over.
You find step-by-step descriptions of how to use the
QuickStop® system further in this manual.

glass, called enamel. This enamel protects the underlying metal

rust, does not fade under the influence of high temperatures and
