• Never charge the battery right after use. Always leave the rechargeable batteries to cool off first (at least
5 - 10 minutes).
• Never leave batteries unattended while charging them.
• Charge only an intact and undamaged rechargeable battery. If the outer isolation of the rechargeable
battery or battery housing is damaged or the battery is deformed or bloated, it must not be charged. In
this case, there is immediate danger of fire and explosion!
The same applies if the rechargeable battery cable or the connection plug or the cable or the plug of the
speed controller is damaged.

8. Charging Drive Battery

• Observe chapters 6 and 7.
• The enclosed plug-in charger is only suitable for charging a 6-cell NiMH rechargeable battery (e.g. the enclosed
NiMH drive battery).
• Disconnect the drive battery from the speed controller and remove the drive battery from the model for charging.
• Place the rechargeable battery on a heat-resistant, inflammable surface when charging.
• Never charge the drive battery unobserved.
• The enclosed NiMH drive battery is delivered uncharged and must be charged. Several complete discharge and
charge cycles are necessary before the drive battery delivers its maximum power.
• Charging of a partially discharged NiMH rechargeable battery is not a problem; previous discharging is not required.
However, observe that the rechargeable battery is regularly run empty and then charged fully to maintain complete
performance.
• The plug-in charger and drive battery heat up when charging. Therefore keep enough distance between the plug-in
charger and the rechargeable battery. Never cover the plug-in charger or the rechargeable battery. Do not expose
the plug-in charger or battery to high/low temperatures or to direct solar radiation.
Wait until the drive battery has reached room temperature before charging it. The same applies after the charging
procedure. Do not use the drive battery in the vehicle until it has cooled down sufficiently after the charging process.
• Remove the battery from the charger when it is fully charged. If the rechargeable battery is completely flat, charging
will take approx. 4 hours.
• Regularly recharge the drive battery (about every 2 - 3 months). Otherwise, self-discharge of the rechargeable
battery may cause deep discharge. This will render the drive battery useless!
The enclosed NiMH drive battery will lose its energy within a few weeks in most cases according to its principle.
Therefore, recharge the drive battery regularly during storage (e.g. in winter).
