Charging Drive Battery
Important!
• Observe chapters 6 and 7. Improper handling of the Li-Ion rechargeable battery installed in the vehicle
and the plug-in charger will cause various dangers!
• Never charge the battery in the vehicle unobserved.
• Charging of a partially discharged Li-Ion rechargeable battery is not a problem; previous discharging is not
required. However, observe that the rechargeable battery is regularly run empty and then charged fully to
maintain complete performance.
• The plug-in charger and rechargeable battery heat up when charging. Never cover the plug-in charger and
the vehicle in which the rechargeable battery is installed. Do not expose the plug-in charger or vehicle to
high/low temperatures or to direct solar radiation.
• The Li-Ion rechargeable battery installed in the vehicle is delivered uncharged and must be charged.
Several complete discharge and charge cycles are necessary before the rechargeable battery delivers its
maximum power.
• Regularly recharge the rechargeable battery in the vehicle (about every 2 - 3 months). Otherwise, self-
discharge of the rechargeable battery may cause deep discharge. This will render the rechargeable bat-
tery installed in the vehicle useless!
• First switch off the vehicle. For this, take off the car body
(see chapter 10. b) and put the slider (see circle in figure
1) in the position "OFF".
• Then connect the round plug of the plug-in charger to
the corresponding socket (see circular mark in figure 2)
at the vehicle.
• Plug the plug-in charger into a proper mains socket of
the public mains (wall outlet).
An LED in the plug-in charger will indicate charging.
LED is lit red: The battery is being charged
LED is lit green: Charging completed (or plug-in charger
not connected to the vehicle)
• Charging the completely flat rechargeable battery may
take up to 2 hours.
• Disconnect the plug-in charger from the vehicle when
charging is completed. Unplug the plug-in charger from
the mains socket.
