nity of the 3-point linkage.
Do not stand between tractor and machine when operating
the remote control unit for the 3-point linkage.
Always ensure that the tractor 3-point linkage is adequately
stabilized to prevent swaying with the machine in transport
position.
During road transport with the machine raised, the control
lever must be locked to prevent unintentional lowering of
the machine.
Trailed machine
Take precautions to prevent the machine from rolling away.
Observe maximum permissible load capacity of couplings
and swinging drawbar.
When hitching the machine at the drawbar, ensure that there
is sufficient movement at the hitch point.
PTO operation
Only use universal drive shafts specified by the manufac-
turer.
Always ensure that the guards for the universal drive shaft
and PTO stub shaft are installed and in good condition.
Ensure that the guards properly cover the universal drive
shafts, both in the transport and in the working position.
Always disengage the PTO shaft, stop the engine and
remove the main switch key (ignition key) before attaching
or detaching the universal drive shaft.
When universal drive shafts with overload or freewheeling
clutches are used which are not protected by the tractor`s
guard, the overload or freewheeling clutches have to be
installed next to the machine.
Always make sure that the universal drive shaft is correctly
installed and securely fastened.
Prevent the universal drive shaft guards from rotating with
the drive shaft by attaching chains.
Before engaging the PTO shaft, ensure that the selected
speed and the direction of rotation of the tractor`s PTO shaft
matches the permissible speed and the direction of rotation
of the drive assembly of the machine.
Before engaging the PTO shaft ensure everybody is clear of
the machine and stands a safe distance away.
Never engage the PTO shaft while the tractor engine is
switched off.
When operating the PTO shaft no-one must ever stand in
the vicinity of the rotating PTO stub shaft or universal drive
shaft.
Always disengage the PTO shaft when the turn angle is
extreme or when the PTO drive shaft is not used.
DANGER: High-inertia implements run on after the PTO has
been disengaged. SAFETY HAZARD! Allow sufficient time
for the machine to run down to a halt. Do not go near the
machine until all mechanisms have stopped.
Never attempt to clean, lubricate, repair or adjust the PTO-
18
drive or the universal drive shaft unless the PTO shaft has
been disengaged, the engine has been switched off and the
main key switch (ignition key) has been removed.
Whenever the universal drive shaft is not connected to the
tractor it must be kept on the storage yoke.
After uncoupling the universal drive shaft, the protective
guard must be pushed on to the PTO stub shaft.
In case of damage, the defective parts must be immediately
repaired. The machine must not be operated with a dama-
ged, faulty PTO shaft or universal drive shaft.
Hydraulic system
The hydraulic system is under high pressure.
When connecting hydraulic cylinders ensure the hydraulic
hoses are connected correctly.
All pressure must be released in the tractor hydraulic circuit
and in the implement hydraulic circuit before connecting the
hydraulic hoses to the tractor hydraulics.
Both male and female couplings of hydraulic function lines
between tractor and baler should be marked to avoid ope-
rator errors. Confusing the couplings reverses the functions
(e.g. raise/lower). Safety hazard!
Inspect hydraulic hoses regularly and replace damaged and
deteriorated hoses with new ones. Replacement hoses must
meet the technical requirements specified by the manufac-
turer.
Checking for leaks is hazardous. Use suitable aids to check
for leaks. Beware of personal injury.
Escaping fluid (hydraulic oil) under high pressure can penet-
rate the skin and cause serious injury. If any fluid penetrates
into skin, consult a doctor immediately as otherwise serious
infections may result.
Before performing any work on the hydraulic system, lower
the machine, release the pressure from the hydraulic system
and stop the engine.
Tyres
Fitting tyres and wheels requires special training and expert
knowledge and the correct tools.
Always ensure that the machine is safely parked and secu-
red so that it will not roll away (use wheel chocks to block
wheels).
Repair work on tyres and wheels must only be carried out by
professionals and with correct tools.
Check tyre pressures regularly. Observe the recommended
tyre pressure.
Maintenance
Repair, service and cleaning work and the elimination of
malfunctions should only be performed with the drive and
engine switched off. Remove the main switch key (ignition
key).
Wait until mower drums stop rotating!
