1.5 Temperature cut-off
The steam generator has an integral temperature limit control. (Figure 15)
1.6 Main switch
The main switch is located on the side of the steam generator. (Figure 9)
The steam generator's automatic emptying function is deactivated as soon as there is an interruption to the power supply.
1.7 Floor and drainage
There must be a floor drain inside the steam room, and the steam room floor must slope towards this drain. Steam room flooring
may be bonded plastic floor-covering, quarry tiles, etc., but it must be laid in full compliance with current wet-room flooring
regulations.
PLEASE NOTE: Floor and wall coverings made of plastic-based materials may become slightly discoloured close to the steam
head as a result of repeated contact with steam and hot water.
1.8 Ventilation
As a general rule, steam rooms that are used for less than 2 hours at a time do not require forced ventilation. However, for
reasons of hygiene and to safeguard the function of the steam room equipment, all steam rooms that are in continuous use for
more than 2 hours must be ventilated with 10–20 cubic metres of air per person per hour.
If there is a cavity above the steam room, this must not be completely sealed. To ventilate the space above the steam room,
make a hole (100 cm²) in the same wall as the steam room door.
1.9 Air inlet
The air inlet to the steam room can be either an opening placed low anywhere on the same wall as the steam room door, or an
air gap under the door itself.
1.10 Air outlet
The air outlet vent in the steam room must be located high up on the wall or in the ceiling, as far as possible from the air vent,
but not above the door or steam room seat. The outlet must be connected to a ventilation duct that discharges into the open air.
An existing ventilation channel may be used.
The ventilation duct must be fully air- and watertight and made of a material that can withstand high levels of humidity.
Make sure there are no dips, sags or pockets where condensation can accumulate and block the passage of air. If it is not
possible to avoid what may potentially be a water pocket, a water trap must be installed so that any condensation can be
drained off.
The air outlet vent must be large enough to extract 10–20 cubic metres of air per person per hour.
1.11 Forced ventilation
If the air outlet is not sufficiently effective in extracting the stipulated volume of air unassisted (for example, because of negative
pressure in the room supplying air to the steam room), some form of forced ventilation must be installed and adjusted to extract
a minimum of 10 cubic metres and a maximum of 20 cubic metres of air per person per hour.

1.13 Automatic emptying
The steam generator automatically empties out some of the water after 4 hours (factory setting). This automatic function
considerably reduces the build-up of limescale (calcium carbonate) and other deposits in the water tank. To ensure that the
automatic emptying and flushing functions work as intended, do not switch off the main switch or an isolating switch between the
power supply and the steam generator until at least 20 minutes after the control panel timer has turned the system off.
WARNING! The water in the tank is hot
1.14 Service intervals
How often the steam generator needs to be cleaned depends on the water quality, the output of the generator and the operating
time. To test how hard or soft the water is, first follow the EASY TEST instructions enclosed and then refer to the
recommendations for service (See the section on 'Servicing Tylö Steam Pro' and Figure 16b).
