Sealing the Gland
The IND131 junction box terminal and IND331 harsh environment terminal are designed to
withstand severe washdown environments. However, care must be taken when installing cables
and/or connectors that enter the terminal enclosure. To ensure a watertight seal:

Cable shielding should be grounded to the enclosure by spreading the shield wires as shown at
the top of Figure 2-28, then folding them back over the plastic component of the cable gland
before pressing it into the threaded body.
Pass the cables through an appropriately sized cable grip before connecting the wires. Figure
2-29 shows one cable gland (12mm) installed, and a second gland (16mm) disassembled.
