7-3. Servicing Filter And Spark Guard (SWX-D Models)

Release latches and open hatch. Use
filter handles to remove filter.
Replace filter if dirty (plugged) or
damaged.
Wipe off hatch. Vacuum particles
from inside of housing.
Remove spark guard (from behind
baffle).
Clean and inspect spark guard
screen. Replace spark guard if
screen wires are broken or missing.
Install spark guard.
Install filter.
Close hatch and secure with latches.
Disconnect and lockout/tag-
out input power before con-
necting input conductors from
unit. Follow established pro-
cedures regarding the installa-
tion and removal of lockout/
tagout devices.
Do not operate unit without fil-
ter or with dirty (plugged) filter.
Allow cooling period before in-
specting or replacing filter, or
cleaning spark guard.
Replace the filter when dirty
(plugged). Do not clean the fil-
ter or use a filter that has been
cleaned.
Do not breathe the particles
collected by the fume extrac-
tor. Wear approved safety
equipment (respirator, gloves,
long sleeve shirt) when servic-
ing filter and spark guard. Dis-
pose of used element and col-
lected particles according to
local, state, and federal re-
quirements.
Read and understand the
Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and
the manufacturer's instruc-
tions for metals, consum-
ables, coatings, cleaners, and
degreasers.
