Stop Modes
Relative Stop Position
Insufficient Y-Table Travel
Discotom-60 /-65
Instruction Manual
Discotom has 3 different stop modes:
Relative stop position
Absolute stop position
Automatic stop
The Y-table is set to stop in a position relative to where cutting starts.
After entering the approximate sample size, the cutting process will
stop immediately after the sample has been cut through. The
positioning range is 0-200 mm.
If, when the relative stop position is being adjusted, there is
insufficient Y-table travel left for the selected stop setting, a warning
triangle will be displayed beside the Stop (Rel.) bar graph (see,
below). For example, if the Y-table is in its mid-position (100 mm)
and the relative stop position is set to 150 mm.
Moving the Y-table towards the front of the cutting chamber
increases the amount of travel and this automatically updates the
relative stop data. When the Y-table reaches the point where there is
sufficient travel for the selected stop setting, the warning triangle will
no longer be displayed.
