OIL LEVEL CHECK

Note*: Check the oil level when the engine has just
been turned off and is still hot.
- Position the motorcycle on a flat surface in vertical
position.
- Remove the RH side panel as described in the rela-
tive paragraph.
- Unscrew the dipstick (1) and remove it; clean it
with a cloth and reinsert it in the filling hole (2)
without screwing it back in, then remove it again
and check that the oil level is between the "MIN"
and "MAX" notches.
- If you need to top up, pour in oil through the hole
(2) until reaching the correct level.
- Reinsert the dipstick and screw it back into place.

ENGINE OIL AND FILTER CHANGE
Note*: Carry out this operation with the engine hot.
CAUTION*: Be careful not to touch the hot oil.
- Position the motorcycle on a flat surface in vertical
position.
- Remove the RH side panel as described in the rela-
tive paragraph.
- Remove the oil dipstick (1).
- Place a basin underneath the oil tank in corre-
spondence to the drain plug (2).
- Unscrew the drain plug (2) located at the bottom
of the oil tank and let all the oil drain out.
- Place a basin underneath the engine in corre-
spondence to the drain plug (8).
- Unscrew the drain plug (8) located on the left-
hand side of the engine and let all the oil drain out.
- Undo the two screws (3) and remove the cap (4).
- Remove the filter (5), check its condition and re-
place it if necessary.
- Refit the drain plug (2) and the drain plug (8) re-
placing the sealing washer (tightening torque: 20
Nm - 2.0 Kgm - 14.75 ft/lb).
- Refit the filter (5) and the cap (4) replacing the seal
(6).
- Pour about 1.7 kg of oil into the oil tank through
the filler neck (7).
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
