CHAIN ADJUSTMENT

Chain should be checked, adjusted and lubricated
as per the Maintenance Chart to ensure safety and
prevent excessive wear. If the chain becomes badly
worn or is poorly adjusted (i.e., if it is too loose or too
taut), it could escape from sprocket or break.
Make sure that the chain features a slack (A) meas-
uring approximately 20 mm (0,78 in.), as shown in
the nameplate (1) on swingarm.
If it is not, proceed as follows:
- loosen the wheel pin fastening nut (2) on the left-
hand side using a socket wrench;
- loosen the lock nuts (3) on both the chain tension-
ers and operate on the screws (4) to obtain the
correct tension value referring to the reference
notches (5);
- adjust the check nuts (3) to a coupling torque of
22 Nm (2,2 kgm - 16,22 ft/lb) and the wheel axle
nut (2), to a coupling torque of 142 Nm (14,20 kgm -
104,73 ft/lb).

After adjustment, always check wheel alignment
and that the camber is 20 mm (0.78 in.).
