Clutch lever (fig. 19)
Lever (1) disengages the clutch. It has a knob (2) for
adjusting the distance between lever and twistgrip on the
handlebar.
Lever distance is adjusted by 10 clicks of the knob (2).
Turn clockwise to move the lever away from the twistgrip,
or anticlockwise to move it closer.
When lever (1) is operated, the transmission is disengaged
from the engine at the gearbox and therefore from the
drive wheel. Use of the clutch is very important during
all phases of driving, especially when moving off.
Warning
Set the clutch and brake lever with the motorcycle
stopped.
Important
Using the clutch properly will prolong the life of the
engine and prevent any damage to components in the
transmission.
Notes
It is possible to start the engine with side stand down
and the gearbox in neutral. When starting the motorcycle
with a gear engaged, pull the clutch lever (in this case the
side stand must be up).
