115. Once the screws are in place, slide a fi berglass washer on
the screw. Thread the M5 lock nut on each screw. Use a 4mm
hex wrench and 8mm nut driver to tighten the hardware.
The fiberglass washers are intended to stop the lock nuts
from compressing the wood, resulting in the power system
being insecurely attached. We advise routinely checking
motor/engine mounting security as prolonged use and
vibration can cause these attachments to loosen over time.
116. Use a drill and 7/32-inch (5.5mm) drill bit to drill the four
holes in the fi rewall to attach the motor.
117. Slide an M4 washer on an M4 x 20 socket head cap screw.
Use the screw to draw the M4 blind nuts into the back of the
fi rewall.
118. Slide an M4 lock washer, then an M4 washer on the M4 x 20
socket head screw. Prepare all four screws.
119. Secure the motor to the fi rewall using the screws from the
previous step. Tighten the screws using a 3mm hex wrench.
Repeat this section of the manual to
install the remaining motor.
The speed controllers will be mounted in the fuselage
near the batteries. Leads must be assembled to
connect the motors to the speed controllers.
Skip to the cowling installation section once
both moros have been installed.

GAS ENGINE INSTALLATION
There are various gas engines that can be fitted to the
OV-10, as well as different ways in which these engines
can be fitted. We understand that some people will
choose to mount the gas engines upright and thus be
fully enclosed within the cowling. However. This will
require a custom muffler solution. The example we are
showing is the DLE 30 with stock muffler option.
120. Place the mounting template on the fi rewall. Use low-tack
tape to hold the template in position. Use a drill and 7/32-inch
(5.5mm) drill bit to drill the four holes in the fi rewall to attach
the motor.
Drill 5/64-inch (2mm) holes in the firewall for the
throttle and choke (optional) pushrod tubes.
121. Attach the throttle lever (if necessary) using the instructions
provided with the engine.
The required length of the engine from the firewall
to the drive washer is 6
5
/
inches (169mm). Use the
8
appropriate spacers to achieve this dimension.
122. Attach the appropriate standoffs to the fi rewall. Make sure to
use threadlock on the hardware.
Long and short spacers have also been provided with the
aircraft. These spacers can used if the engine spacers are
the incorrect length, or your engine does not have spacers.
