5 About This Product
5.1 Product description
The valve system is a pneumatic valve system with electrical control. With the
valve system you can distribute stored pressure energy to your system compo-
nents in a targeted manner, e.g. to control pneumatic cylinders. Thanks to its
modular design, you can implement numerous pneumatic functions in general
machine construction. The valve system is used to control the valves via the D-
Sub multipole plug or a bus coupler.
The AV valve system is used to control up to 40 solenoid coils with a D-Sub con-
nection or up to 128 solenoid coils with a bus connection.
The AV-BP valve system is bottom ported. It is possible to control up to 32 valves.

5.4.2 Overview of supply plates, combination plates, and exhaust
modules
See Figs. 12 and 13
Supply plates make it possible to vary the channeling, separation, or supply of
compressed air in the valve system. Supply plates can be used, for example, as
separation and supply plates when operating with multiple pressure zones. With
a corresponding exhaust module, the exhaust air can be evacuated via a surface
silencer or the tubing connections 3 and 5.

5.4.5 Base plate marking
Base plates are available in two versions:
• For single solenoid valves:
Only single solenoid valves can be operated.
If a double solenoid valve is mounted, only solenoid 14 can be used.
• For double solenoid valves:
Single and double solenoid valves can be operated.
Base plates for single solenoid valves have a marking on the back side.
Base plates for double solenoid valves do not have any marking.
