3. Select the electron voltage of the desired bulb.
If instrument is setup for use with a bulb other than the default 10.6
one, current bulb voltage will be displayed at turn ON.
It is very important to have an understanding of PID basics
when changing your PID settings. Failure to select the cor-
rect Response Factor alarm values (exposure, STEL, TWA)
that match your desired Response Factor, and/or the correct
bulb, will result in erroneous readings that could lead to
serious injury or death.
Benzene Scrubber Procedure for Sirius PID
(only if equipped with 9.8 eV lamp)
When used on the Sirius PID with a 9.8 eV lamp, the MSA Benzene
scrubber tubes will:
scrub most other background VOCs from benzene
allow for a benzene specific reading with an average accuracy of
20% (0-100 ppm).
Conditions of use:
temperature range of 5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F)
RH of up to 30g/m³ at 104°F .
1. turn unit ON.
2. Mount the tube holder with quick-connect fitting on the Sirius
instrument.
3. After edging both tips of the benzene scrubber tube, break the
scrubber tube tips with the tube breaker.
4. Using the page button, go to the 'Benzene scrubber' page.
5. Press RESET on the benzene scrubber page
Pump stops
Display shows 'start?' and '15' in the lower part of the display.
6. Mount the scrubber tube on the quick-connect with tube holder
according to the correct flow direction arrow on the tube.
7. Press ON/OFF within 30 seconds to start the scrubbing process
Pump restarts and initiates the scrubber procedure by
counting down from 15 to 0.
