12. Discarding time

Round slings which have reached their
discarding time may no longer be used!

12.1 Criteria:

Round slings must be discarded if:
• the load-bearing non-woven fabric is damaged
• there is damage to the sheath running lengthwise
or crosswise to the sheath
• there is any damage to the seam
• there is deformation due to the effects of heat
(e. g. friction, radiation) or crushing
• the sheath is damaged by the effect of heat or if the
operating temperature was higher than 100 °C.

• the sheath is damaged due to the effects of heat
(e.g. flying sparks or welding sputter)
• there is damage due to the effects of aggressive
substances (e.g. acids, caustic solutions or other
chemical substances)
• non-replaceable fittings have been deformed by
overload or wear (bending, notches, worn places
at the support points, incipient cracks, transverse
cracks, breakages or corrosion, etc.)
• the label on the product is illegible or has been
torn off
• if the round sling has been written on with
a permanent marker
