• Before commissioning/using/examining the attachment
device, the user/inspector must have been instructed

on the basis of the operating manual and must have
read and understood them carefully!

• The safety instructions must be observed!
• The operating manual must always be kept with or in
the immediate vicinity of the product!

Qualified person

The person qualified to carry out the examination is
4
a person who, as a result of his or her professional
training, professional experience and recent professional
4
activity, has the necessary knowledge to examine the
4
attachment devices.
Furthermore, a person qualified for examination is familiar
5
with the relevant national occupational safety regulations,
accident prevention regulations and generally recognised
6
rules of technology (see Chapter 3 Legal and normative
7
bases and regulations).

The activity as an authorised person to carry out
8
the examination requires a written assignment by
8
the employer.

Also, the authorised person to carry out the examination
must have been instructed on the basis of this operating
8
manual and must have read and understood it.

The required special qualification must be acquired
9
through successful participation in internal or external
9
further or advanced training.
Competent person
A person is deemed to be competent if they have
the necessary specialist knowledge and if they have
sufficient knowledge in the field of slinging on the basis
of their specialist training, professional experience or
a corresponding professional activity carried out in
the recent past.
Furthermore, a competent person is familiar with
the relevant national occupational safety regulations,
accident prevention regulations and generally recognised
rules of technology (see Chapter 3 Legal and normative
bases and regulations) to such an extent that they can
assess the safe use of attachment devices.
Also, the competent person must have been instructed
on the basis of this operating manual and must have
read and understood it.
An activity as a competent person requires a written
assignment by the employer.
The special knowledge must be kept up to date through
successful participation in regular training courses.
