• If the load is hanging at an angle, set it down and
reposition the round slings so that the load can be
lifted horizontally.
• Make sure that the load remains under control during
the lifting procedure. No inadvertent rotation or a
collision with other objects may occur.
• If suspension gear is used in such a way that not all
legs are loaded, the unused legs must be hung up in
the suspension ring. Accordingly, the working load
limit is reduced to that of the legs used. This is only
permitted after documented training by an expert.
• Hang up frozen or wet round slings in well-ventilated
rooms or allow them to dry in the air before the next
use.
• Never raise or lower the load with a jerk. Stress due
to tearing or jerking must be avoided, as it increases
the forces acting on the round sling.
• Hands and bodily parts must be kept away from the
attachment devices as soon as they become taut –
risk of injury, crushing!
To prevent rotation or overturning when lifting the load,
the following conditions must be observed:
a) For single-leg attachment devices, the round sling must
be positioned vertically above the centre of gravity of
the load.
b) For two-legged suspension gear, the round slings must
be located evenly either side of and above the centre
of gravity of the load.
c) For three and four-legged suspension gear, the round
slings must be evenly distributed in one plane around
the centre of gravity of the load and located above
the centre of gravity of the load.
11. Inspection and maintenance
instructions
Regular inspection ensures safe operation
• The attachment device may only be inspected by
an expert.
• The inspection must be done at least annually or in ac-
cordance with the test periods defined by the company. In
accordance with the conditions of use and the operational
conditions, additional inspections may be necessary during
the year. These are to be defined by the expert accordingly.
• The inspections must be documented, e. g. similar to
the provisions of the DGUV rule 100-500
• Metallic fittings, if any, must additionally be subjected
to a crack test at least every 3 years.
– The test must be performed according to
EN 10228 Part 1 (magnetic particle inspection)
or Part 2 (liquid penetrant inspection).

11.1 Repair of round slings

A round sling can only be repaired if the corresponding
EC declaration of conformity or the test certificate for
the round sling is available.
A repair is possible if, for example, a replaceable fitting
is damaged.
Repairs may only be carried out by
the manufacturer.

11.2 Cleaning of round slings

• Round slings must be cleaned with clear water,
without added chemicals.
• Round slings which have become wet during use or
cleaning, should be hung in well-ventilated rooms or
air-dried before next use.
• Under no circumstances may the round slings be
heated or warmed up directly.
• Limited indirect heating of the environment within
the temperature range is permitted for drying.
