6.4 Round slings with fittings

The fittings must meet the requirements of EN 1677.
• Welded fittings are to be arranged in such a way that
the welds are visible when using the round sling.
• The round sling must be positioned on the fitting in
a manner that allows it to adopt a natural (flattened)
shape under load, is in contact over the entire surface
and:
– the round sling does not show any damage at the
place where the fitting rests;
– the round sling must withstand the load.

6.5 Marking

The working load limit specifications are legibly and
permanently indicated on a durable label that is attached
directly to the round sling or is fastened as a tag to
the suspension ring of the round sling suspension gear.
A section of the label is attached under the seam and is
marked with appropriate data for the purpose of
traceability.
